FOR RELEASE

WATER IS LIFE –

NORTH ISLAND PROTECTORS GATHER AT THE NIMKISH BRIDGE

Nimpkish Bridge—On Saturday, November 19, 2016, the Land, Air, Water and Sea protectors are gathering at the Nimpkish Bridge in solidarity with the Voices being raised against Kinder Morgan, the Heiltsuk in their Fight against the Diesel Spill at Bella Bella, and the Water Protectors at Standing Rock as they struggle to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline.

Many of us are getting tired of hitting the “like” button on social media or watching tragic events unfold through the discomforting distance of Facebook, and feel it is time to take action by actually getting out and standing in unity with our indigenous brothers and sisters.

We believe in the power of the word, “No”—and we need to exercise our right to speak it. We must dare to say, ‘No”—No to tankers; No to big disastrous projects; No to any further harm being done to our lands and waters; and No to sacrificing the lives of our children and their future for short term economic gain.

The human race gets no second chances if we destroy our water supply: Water is Life—if there is no Water, there is no Life.  Please join us at the pole on the side of the road at the Nimpkish Bridge from 11:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 19th. Bring your good energy, bring your drum/regalia, bring your voice, bring your sign, and bring your chair.

"Standing in Solidarity - Calling all Land,

Air, Water and Sea protectors" is the event name created by Ernest Alfred on Facebook. Please join the Day of

Action (open to everyone).
