BURNABY RESIDENTS OPPOSING KINDER MORGAN EXPANSION picnic

We are approaching the 10th anniversary of the Kinder Morgan pipeline rupture on Inlet Drive in the Westridge neighbourhood of Burnaby (July 24).

Some of us are going to meet at Westridge Park this Sunday July 23rd to mark the occasion and we invite you to join us.

We thought we would have an informal, non-structured picnic where those who wished to mark the catastrophe would bring their own picnic, sunscreen, blanket, umbrella... to share the hours between 1 PM and 3 PM in the afternoon. Apparently there is one port-a-potty during the summer and a water tap for drinkable water. Parking is difficult and we would ask that people bus, bike or walk to leave the few spaces north of the tennis court for others  with mobility issues.

There will be no speeches, no rally, no demonstrations or protests - just a gathering of like-minded people to enjoy the green space.

If you have any photos from the day 10 years ago, please share with us.
