Back in 2017,  Jamie Margolin, a Seattle high school student, founded an organization called Future Voters for 350ppm. (“Future voters” meaning young people who can’t vote yet, and “350 ppm” referring to a safe level of atmospheric carbon dioxide that the world blew past long ago). But things didn’t go as planned, and the group ended up being short-lived.

Sister, Brothers, and Friends,

In less than a month our political landscape has changed drastically. Millions of

lives are disrupted in ways unimaginable a few weeks ago. In the absence of

well-organized progressive forces, fighting effectively for progressive policies,

the post-coronavirus world will be designed by corporate bankers and grim for

all the rest of us.

Already there are important campaigns against bailing out the fossil fuel

industry and in favour of closing the industrial construction camps and

The global pandemic of COVID-19 has spread to almost every country on the planet earth. The virus will take many lives, disrupt communities and institutions, and leave behind trauma and a devastated world economy.
