Dear Rebels,
In the lead up to the Global Climate Strikes in September and the XR International Rebellion starting on October 7th, XR Vancouver is beginning to gear up for disruption.
This past Wednesday and Thursday, 40 Vancouver rebels gathered together to pull off our first disruptive actions! Our first event provided a practical training in swarming tactics - brief, mobile disruptions of traffic. We learned how to cheer, form affinity groups, distribute action roles, and carry out effective roadblocks. The next afternoon, we put these skills to the test in downtown traffic. And the result was incredible! We were loud, we were organized, and we were united. The energy was infectious and left us all wanting more. Let's build upon this momentum each week as we continue to train for bigger, more disruptive actions during the October International Rebellion!
SWARM ACTION DAY: Thursday Aug. 29th, Robson St. & Hornby St., 3-5:30pm.
We will gather to stop traffic and business as usual using swarming tactics. Snacks and action debrief on art gallery steps to follow.
