We are currently impacted by the NEB and federally approved Kinder Morgan Transmountain Pipeline Project. We will be speaking about that topic, as well as our history of resistance. In January 2017, a traditional Nlaka'Pamux gathering was held in Shulus, unceded Nlaka'Pamux territory. We released a public statement on our stance rejecting Kinder Morgan's expansion project. Kinder Morgan has met with various Nlaka'Pamux bands to make deals on whether the new pipeline would be built through reserves, or around reserves. These deals have nothing to do with our territory off reserve. Some of us want to see our mountains, water and hunting grounds protected.
