Public Meeting: Fracking and LNG are Risky Business On November 18, the Council of Canadians hosts a public meeting to discuss BC government plans for a huge expansion in liquefied natural gas (LNG) production. Speakers Ben Parfitt and Damien Gillis argue that this expansion is risky business for the evironment and the economy. Ben, the CCPA's resident expert on the impacts of fracking, will discuss recent developments in oil and gas production, outline the flaws in the government's plans, and propose alternatives. Damien will show excerpts from his documentary film Fractured Land, which will premiere on CBC's Documentary Channel next year.
