Once more: WE STILL SAY NO!! PEOPLE AND PLANET BEFORE PIPELINES AND PROFIT!!

Kinder Morgan is at it again, holding a Sept. 21 “information session” in Burnaby to convince people that their Trans Mountain Expansion Project —pipeline, tank farm, and super-tanker traffic — is a wonderful thing for everyone.

Come and join us to challenge this slick attempt to pull the wool over lower mainlanders’ eyes. Burnaby Residents Opposing Kinder Morgan Expansion (BROKE) will be there to tell the other side of the story:

This project
- violates the wishes and the rights of many BC First Nations;
- includes a five-million-barrel hillside oil storage tank farm that risks public safety through fire, explosion, and toxic gases;
- would increase tanker traffic in Burrard Inlet seven-fold, seriously endangering public health, plants and animals in the water and on land, and the local economy;
- threatens oil spills on land and in streams all along the thousand-kilometre route of a pipeline that would bring to Burnaby 890,000 barrels a day of poisonous, impossible-to-clean-up diluted bitumen;
- would equal 24 million passenger cars in worsening global climate change, multiplying huge forest fires, catastrophic hurricanes, droughts, floods, famines—among other catastrophes.
