The People v. Beedie: 105 Keefer Community Hearing and Rally

Join Chinatown Action Group 華埠行動小組 and Chinatown Concern Group 唐人街關注組 for a community hearing to decide the fate of 105 Keefer

We urge all the supporters of Chinatown’s elders, renters, and working people attend. We will make our voices heard!

Ryan Beedie has appealed the Development Permit Board’s November 6, 2017 decision to reject his most recent application to build at 105 Keefer. This is the fifth rejection he has received in the five years since he acquired the site in 2014. The people have spoken: Beedie and his luxury condos are not wanted in Chinatown.

Beedie’s appeal will be reviewed by the Board of Variance at City Hall on March 2, 2018 at 1:30PM. The Board of Variance has made it incredibly difficult to register to speak at the proceedings. In response, the residents of Chinatown and the Downtown Eastside, those who are most threatened with displacement if the 105 Keefer condos are built, will be holding our own community hearing and rally at 1111 W Georgia St.

We invite Ryan Beedie to come down from his office on the seventeenth floor to defend his latest application and appeal.
