On February 27th, we will gather at the art gallery. We will spill "blood" to recognise the crimes against humanity that are being facilitated by the Canadian government through inaction on the climate and ecological crisis.
Thereafter, we will march together, and peacefully occupy public space, where we will focus on our 4 demands. The event will include regenerative activities and music. More details will be shared closer to the date of this action.
Our demands are:

Government must respond to the climate and ecological crisis with a just transformation that is actively decolonial, prioritizing the livelihoods of workers and the rights of those most oppressed by the present system, including our non-human relations.

Government must tell the truth by declaring a climate and ecological emergency, working with other institutions to communicate the urgency for change.

Government must act now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2025.

Government must create and be led by the decisions of a Citizens’ Assembly on climate and ecological justice.

We will also share more about our plans with the spring rebellion (1 May) and offer people the opportunity to be involved in the rebellion - everyone's talents and skills are needed!
We require all our participants to wear masks and maintain social distancing protocols.
This event takes place on the unceded and stolen territory of the Coast Salish Peoples.
