ALL OUT FOR PALESTINE: Vancouver-Wide Protest for Nakba Day, Sat. May 18 | CAR RALLY & BIKE RIDE to the mass action!

Dear all friends and supporters of Palestine,

Join us tomorrow, Saturday, May 18, for our collective expression of commitment to resistance until return! Let us make it the biggest day for Palestine in Vancouver as we mark 76 years of al-Nakba, the ongoing Zionist genocide and colonialism in Palestine, amid the Gaza Genocide. In 1947-48, over 750,000 Palestinians were expelled from their homes and lands, denied their right to return ever since. In fact, over 70% of Palestinians from Gaza are themselves refugees fighting for their return.

Join us at the Art Gallery at 2 pm, or participate in the Car Rally and mass Skytrain ride, or the Bike Ride 4 Palestine, all of which will converge together at 2 pm for our mass rally, march and protest for a free Palestine, from the river to the sea!

  • Saturday, May 18: Vancouver Art Gallery - Nakba Day, Day of Palestinian Struggle, Vancouver-Wide Protest. Gather at 2 pm
  • Saturday, May 18: Car Rally to Vancouver Art Gallery Protest - 4 start locations, Abbotsford, Coquitlam, Langley and Maple Ridge!
  • Saturday, May 18: Bike Ride 4 Palestine to Vancouver Art Gallery Protest - Gather at City Hall at 11:30 am (depart at 12 pm) to ride together to the Art Gallery

RESISTANCE UNTIL RETURN: 76 YEARS OF AL-NAKBA

DAY OF PALESTINIAN STRUGGLE: VANCOUVER-WIDE PROTEST

Saturday, May 18
2 pm
Vancouver Art Gallery

Join us on Saturday, May 18 to commemorate 76 years of ongoing Nakba and march together for return and the liberation of Palestine from the river to the sea.

For over 76 years, over 100 years, Palestinians have been confronting Zionist genocide, backed by imperialist powers including Canada, the US, Britain, Germany and France. We must all be out to confront the ongoing genocide in Gaza and march together for the defeat of Zionism and the full liberation of Palestine, with the return of all those forcibly expelled. We remember, we resist, we return!

76 years of Nakba.

As Ken Sim lights up city hall in Israeli colours, Palestinians the world over mourn the 1948 “catastrophe” - thousands massacred, hundreds of thousands forcibly removed from their homes and villages to make way for Israeli settlers. No thanks to Israeli law, most Palestinians have never had the right to even visit their former homelands.

For Ken Sim to display public solidarity with Israel in face of its brutal occupation of Palestine is inappropriate for any “peace-loving” nation; to do so as it carries out a genocide is abhorrent. We question the moral compass of our mayor, that he be complicit in Israeli exceptionalism and genocide.

We stand (and ride) in solidarity with our Palestinian families and comrades, that they may be allowed to return to their homes, and that no more blood be shed.

Until then it’s FREE PALESTINE until PALESTINE is FREE
