Building Together for the September 24 Global Climate Strike!
Intersection Action + Postering Blitz
4:30pm Intersection Action
5:30pm Postering for September 24 Climate Strike
Broadway and Commercial
On Friday September 24 the next big Global Climate Strike is taking place around the world. In Vancouver the action is being organized by the Sustainabiliteens and will start at 11am at Canada Place (next to Waterfront Skytrain Station). This Climate Strike will be happening right after federal election in Canada. This makes it a crucial opportunity to let the newly elected government know that the climate justice movement is united, strong, mobilized and determined.
Building up to this important action, Climate Convergence is organizing an Intersection Action at Broadway and Commercial in Vancouver followed up a big postering outreach action. Join in to help hold banners and signs at busy rush hour intersection at 4:30pm. Then at 5:30pm we will set off in teams to go and put-up posters for the Sustainabilliteens Climate Strike event. We will be sending teams across the Lower Mainland with the goal to get posters up every major neighborhood. We need to make sure the Climate Strike is impossible to miss - and we're confident we can do it with community support!
Please contact us if you would like to poster with us - our goal is at least 50 people, and the more the better! No experience is necessary, we will be able to send you with someone that has been before. You can e-mail: or call/text Thomas at 778-889-7664 or Alison at 604-518-7361 to get involved.
*** If you are not able to stay at the Intersection Action, you can still come by and pick up posters and postering supplies. ***
We encourage everyone to support and attend the Climate Strike on September 24. If you would like more information on the Vancouver Climate Strike, the Facebook Event is here: This action is following Covid-19 health and safety procedures and everyone is asked to register here:
We know that whatever the outcome of the federal election on September 20, we must continue to build for consistent and committed action in defense of mother earth, and for building the just and sustainable world we all know is possible.
This event takes place on the unceded traditional territories of the Coast Salish peoples of the səlil̓wətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.
