Monday 25 NOV @ 12:00–1:30 | UBC-V Geography Building, Room 229
In Mathur et al. v. His Majesty in Right of Ontario, seven youth have filed a lawsuit claiming that Ontario violated the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms by failing to fulfill its duty to take action on climate change. The CCJ is honoured to co-sponsor this lunchtime event, hosted by Professor Stepan Wood, which will begin with an overview of the Mathur Appeal, followed by an open discussion on the broader implications of the case. Bring your lunch and your questions!
