Cross-Canada Day of Action to Free MENG Wanzhou

Tuesday, 1 December 2020 from 09:00 PST-10:00 PST

On the second anniversary of her arrest, join our cross-Canada movement to FREE MENG WANZHOU, unjustly incarcerated by the Trudeau government at the request of the Trump Administration.
Meng was picked up by the RCMP, with the foreknowledge of the prime minister, while she was in transit at Vancouver Airport on Dec. 1, 2018, so that Trump could use her, as he explicitly admitted, as a bargaining chip in his trade war with China.
The US government also put pressure on Canada to prohibit Huawei Technologies, of which Meng is CFO, from participating in the deployment of the Canadian 5G network. Under Trump, these unfair trading practices were part and parcel of a deliberate attempt to stir up a new cold war against China.
Canada-China relations have deteriorated markedly since Meng's arrest causing hardship for many Canadians.
We call on the Minister of Justice to use his discretionary power to end the extradition process against Ms. Meng and to release her from house arrest at once. Doing so would positively reset Canada-China relations and would show some welcome independence in foreign policy by the Trudeau government.
On Dec. 1, 2020, we will have informational pickets across Canada at Liberal MP's offices, including Trudeau's, and at various government offices.
The cities, in which socially-distanced and masked protests are currently scheduled, are the following:
Montreal
Toronto
Hamilton, ON: 11 am to noon, in front of MP Bob Bratina's constituency office, 42 King St E, Stoney Creek, ON L8G 1K1. Please dress warmly and bring a sign: "Free Meng Wanzhou!"
London
Winnipeg
Regina
Vancouver
