Fracking with Freshwater webinar with expert panel

The fracking industry is the only one in B.C. allowed to extract billions of litres of freshwater, poison it, and then dispose of it untreated. The fact that they’re doing this should be a massive scandal – but it’s not, because not enough people know about it.

Don’t miss your chance to peek behind the curtain and hear more from an expert panel during our Fracking with Freshwater webinar this Thursday, February 23rd at 6pm PT.

(If you’ve already RSVP’ed – please forward this email along to 5 people!)

Late last year we released a shocking report exposing how the B.C. government is allowing the fracking industry to poison billions of litres of water each year. The water is poisoned with toxic chemicals before being pumped – untreated – into disposal wells. In fact, it’s so toxic that it can never be used again. The fracking companies claim that this toxic wastewater will stay deep underground, but refuse to do any monitoring or testing to confirm that it’s not leaking into the surrounding groundwater and harming nearby communities. No other industry in B.C. is allowed to mistreat water in this way.

The long-term solution is clear: we must end fracking in B.C. However, until we begin the work of transitioning away from fracked gas, there are some practical steps the B.C. government can take right now to urgently protect clean water and communities.

I hope to see you online tomorrow for this important discussion.
