Hilton Metrotown Hotel Workers are Standing Up and saying "No more Unequal Women in the Hotel Industry!"

UPDATE on Local 40's Aug. 5th Unequal Women Rally and Sit-In! ✊

RSVP at https://www.facebook.com/events/498439964549646
When: August 5 at 5 pm
Where: Hilton Metrotown, 6083 McKay Ave, Burnaby, BC

The newly elected women-led leadership of the Canadian Labour Congress — President Bea Bruske, Secretary-Treasurer Lily Chang, and Executive Vice-President Siobhán Vipond — will be joining hotel workers and taking over the streets! We are very thankful to have their support and solidarity with fired and locked out Hilton Metrotown workers on the picket line.

It's time we stand together with the women who cook for, clean after, and serve guests in hotels! Allies from labour and the broader community spanning across the Lower Mainland all agree: Burnaby is better than the Hilton!

Mark your calendars for next Thursday, August 5th at 5 pm (press conference starts at 4:30 pm), and don't forget to bring something to make noise and be loud!

We've coordinated with local law enforcement to make sure our sit-in action will be safe and the rally is family-friendly. If you have any questions about day-of logistics don't hesitate to reply to this email.

In solidarity,

UNITE HERE Local 40
