Trans Mountain has surrounded the tree-sit at Lost Creek, and has begun cutting trees dangerously close to the five people currently occupying the trees. We have moved the location of the action (now at North Road and Lougheed) to be close to the tree-sit and defend for this important campaign to Stop TMX and Protect the Planet! Please share and show up!

TOGETHER WE CAN STOP THE TMX PIPELINE!
NO NEW PIPELINE IN A CLIMATE EMERGENCY!

INTERSECTION ACTION

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 10
4:30pm
Intersection of Lougheed and North Road
(Next to Lougheed Town Centre)
The federal election was called one week after the United Nations IPCC report reminded the world of the devastating consequences if massive changes are not made to “business as usual” environmental destruction. Yet, the election campaign has so far been very much “business as usual”. There is no federal leadership debate on the climate crisis.

At the same time, Prime Minister Trudeau is making the same old empty promises about emission reductions. Meanwhile, continuing to throw $20 billion in tax-payer dollars at the disastrous Trans Mountain Expansion (TMX) pipeline and billions more at other climate destroying projects.

Join Climate Convergence as we set up at this busy rush hour Intersection with signs, banners and an information table for people to learn about the TMX pipeline and the climate crisis – and how to join the climate justice movement fighting for a better and sustainable world.
More and more people in Canada are tired of the rhetoric and the hypocrisy of the federal government when it comes to empty promises about the environment and Indigenous rights. During the election and beyond, now is the time to continue to mobilize allies and local support to stop this climate disaster once and for all.

This is a family friendly action and will follow provincial Covid-19 regulations.

Bring a mask. Bring your friends. Bring your signs.
