National Action Hour for Jacob Blake

National Action Hour for Jacob Blake

All week, we’ve been holding Jacob Blake in our hearts as he fights for his life in a Wisconsin hospital. We mourn the life of Trayford Pellerin, killed by police last Friday, and the lives of those taken in protests across the country since then. As we sit with the heartbreak, we also ground ourselves once again in the long road that lies ahead, and the inextricable ties between police violence here, occupation in Palestine, and injustice the world over. We grieve, rest, continue to fight – from Kenosha to Palestine – and honor the ongoing process of healing through collective action.

In response to the visionary grassroots organizing challenging this racist policing and state violence nationwide, JVP (Jewish Voices for Peace) is holding "Action Hours" every month, where we come together for an hour on Zoom to take action in community.

National Action Hour
Tuesday, September 8th
9-10am PT / 11am-12pm CT / 12-1pm ET
Please register for the Action Hour here

This month’s actions will primarily focus on abolitionist campaigns (aiming to dismantle prisons, policing, surveillance, militarism and all systems of violent state control). Together we’ll pressure decision makers to agree to community demands from around the country through phone calls, emails, faxes, and petitions. Whether you're newer to abolition work or you're already actively engaged in anti-policing and anti-prison campaigns, this is the space for you. We’ll have time to surface questions, discuss, and deepen our analysis.

Looking forward to seeing you on Zoom on September 8th.
