The NEW Shock Doctrine: An Evening with Naomi Klein  – Charting Canada’s Path in a Time of Crisis with Seth Klein, author of The Good War and Elamin Abdelmahmoud (Host of CBC’s Commotion)

UBC Centre for Climate Justice, Vancouver Writers Fest, and Chan Centre for the Performing Arts are thrilled to present an evening with our Co-Director, Naomi Klein and special guests Seth Klein and Elamin Abdelmahmoud, on Saturday, April 26.

Eighteen years after it was first published, Naomi Klein’s groundbreaking book, The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism, is back on the bestseller lists—for reasons much against her will. The Trump Administration has put the world into a state of shock, using the rolling chaos it creates to push through the most radical pillage of the public sphere ever attempted. Don’t miss this crucial event, where Naomi and Seth Klein, author of A Good War, will join CBC Radio’s Elamin Abdelmahmoud, to probe the NEW shock doctrine and Canada’s path forward in this time of crisis.
