Join Tsleil-Waututh activist Will George for the Warrior Spirit Premiere

For over a decade, Tsleil-Waututh Nation has worked to protect its territory, surrounding what’s now known as the Burrard Inlet, from the threat of oil tankers. So when the federal government decided to build a pipeline through it anyway, Will George stepped up to block its path.

His new self-directed film, Warrior Spirit, follows his journey to stop the Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion project from being built on his Nation’s unceded land without their consent. Join us at its premiere at Vancouver’s Rio Theatre on March 19 at 7 p.m.

As Will George faces prison time in a racist legal system, he connects with his culture to heal the lands, waters and himself. The film is a moving exploration of resilience, decolonization and the ongoing struggle for justice.

After the film, there will be a panel discussion with Will George, Tzeporah Berman, Raven Trust and members of the George family. I hope you can join us at the event and reflect on all the good work that has been done to protect these territories.
