Keep Fossil Fuels Out of Van City Hall! Tues, Nov 26
Keep Fossil Fuels Out of Van City Hall! Tues, Nov 26
8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Fossil fuel lobbyists are trying to take over City Council by encouraging a surprise reversal of Vancouver's 2020 good decision of banning gas from new construction for heating. Vancouver risks becoming a climate laggard with this reversal as municipalities across the province are requiring electrification of all new builds by 2025. Let our city council know that their u-turn on good climate policy is unacceptable. We will gather, sing, have fun and get loud as Council enters City Hall on the day of the vote on Tuesday, November 26 starting at 8:30 a.m. Please RSVP below to ensure you stay up to speed on any last minute changes to or updates with Council's vote and impacts on the rally. With gratitude and respect, this action takes place on the unceded lands of xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səlilwətaɬ. In our action, we are committed to learning how individually and collectively, we can actively participate in the decolonialization process and respect the inherent rights of the true owners and stewards of the lands on which our action takes place.
