PROTEST THE FEDERAL WAR BUDGET! CUT THE MILITARY, NOT SOCIAL PROGRAMS!
Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2-3 pm, 510 Burrard St., Vancouver, Unceded Coast
Salish Territories

A recent meeting of the Vancouver Peace Council voted to do a quick banner
and leaflet action to protest the huge increases in federal military
spending. PM Carney's first full budget will be presented in Parliament
next week, featuring major cuts in social program funding. At the same
time, the US War Department is buying shares of Vancouver-based mining
companies which own valuable lands containing rare earths and other
critical materials used in military production. Some of these companies are
headquartered in corporate high-rises in downtown Vancouver. Our action
will be part of Canada-wide campaigns to bring attention to these dangerous
developments and to call for opposition to the federal budget.

This first event may be small, but we need to ring the alarm bell as
quickly as possible. Our protest will take place on Wed., November 5, from
2:00 to 3:00 pm, at 510 Burrard. This location is outside the corporate
offices of Trilogy Minerals (see a link to this important story
