Rally Against Larco Rezoning
Join tenants again in protesting the rezoning of their property!
Larco Investments––that's right, the same Larco who owns the Sheraton YVR, where we have been on strike for over a year––wants to rezone one of their properties in Kerrisdale so they can build an unaffordable high-rise on top of the existing tenants' garden space. As the development will remove the building's parking garage during construction, many seniors say they will be displaced if it is approved.
After extensive opposition, City Council adjourned the rezoning's Public Hearing until July 23rd, the morning after this protest. This is the last chance we have to pressure City Council to do the right thing!
We will meet at 5455 Balsam St at 5pm Monday, and march to 41st Avenue during rush-hour.
