Rally to Protect Stoney Park - Anjali Appadurai (NDP leadership candidate)will speak at the rally

Dear friends!

Four months ago, we came together to show our commitment to protecting Burnaby Mountain from the Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion project (TMX). It was a beautiful and memorable event, and many of us are looking forward to making the HUG an annual celebration!

Protect the Planet and our amazing partners have continued our work for a safer community, country, and planet, free of tar sands pipelines and other reckless fossil fuel projects. In August, we put pressure on the BC and federal governments when TMX destroyed the early salmon run in Coquihalla River in Hope, BC. You might have seen some of the news coverage and social media engagement with this issue (see below this message for links).

On September 17, we invite you to the Rally to Protect Stoney Creek from Trans Mountain’s construction.

Stoney Creek starts on the eastern slopes of our beloved Burnaby Mountain and flows into Brunette River. It is a precious, restored salmon creek that needs protection right now. Let’s come together once again to say NO to this disruptive pipeline construction so close to our homes, schools, communities, and waterways!

The Rally to Protect Stoney Creek will take place on Saturday, Sep 17, at 2:30pm,  8765 Government Street, near the New Life Community Church in Burnaby.

Please come and bring your friends and family!

Can’t wait to see you again,
