Rapid development is making it harder for families to find affordable housing, access hospitals, and get their kids into schools. Instead of standing with families, Council is siding with developers.
Families at Kwantlen Park Manor near Surrey City Centre risk losing their homes to a redevelopment that will remove affordable housing. This will put more pressure on already stretched schools and hospitals, and cause chaos for these families as they scramble to find new housing.
The developer who plans to replace Kwantlen Park Manor with unaffordable housing is also the majority owner of Radisson Blu Vancouver Airport, where some of our Surrey-based members are on strike.
Join us on February 13 to demand Mayor Locke and City Council put affordable housing, schools, and hospitals before more high-priced developments.
