Reduce military spending! No new fighter jets!

April 7 is budget day. Justin Trudeau and Jagmeet Singh have made a pact to solidify their political positions until 2025. The Trudeau government is guaranteed support for domestic and foreign policy, which means more military spending and more involvement in the war over Ukraine. NDP leader Jagmeet Singh says he has won some social rewards for the people, but increased military spending robs social funds. The NDP also supports the $19-billion purchase of 88 F-35 fighter jets, largely seen as deficient and risky technology, and very costly to maintain. They certainly will not help Canada reach its emissions reductions goal.
