Please join us at the BC Supreme Court, where Gitchi Makwa Stacy Gallagher will have his sentencing hearing with Judge Shelley Fitzpatrick. Stacy is upholding Indigenous law and natural law in the face of colonial violence and systemic racism against Indigenous people and all who respect Indigenous cultures and values.
The Crown is seeking 90 days of prison for Stacy because he has been steadily and peacefully praying for the protection of unceded Coast Salish land in the face of the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion on Burnaby Mountain.
The Crown is supposed to represent the public interest, but instead is effectively acting as an enforcer for the pipeline and wilfully ignoring that stopping or slowing down climate crisis is absolutely in the public interest.
We are grateful for the chance to try to humbly act as good relatives with the Coast Salish peoples, on whose unceded lands we are living.
