On May 1-5th, we will stop business as usual in our own lives, in the lives of the public, and of those in power. We withdraw our cooperation from the systems that are leading us and all our relations to calamity.
Book the week off. Get your camping equipment together, and bring it downtown - we will be establishing a home base in the streets! Make a covid-safe protest plan - always wear a mask and keep physical distance from others.

This is the year. The decisions made over the next few months will define the future of our world. The stakes have never been higher as time runs out to act effectively and decisively on the climate and ecological emergency. We are hovering at the point of no return and yet our Government continues to pave the way for mass death and extinction of countless species. If they won’t do what’s necessary to safeguard our future, then we must. This year, it is down to all of us to act.
This Spring, as part of the International Waves of Rebellion, Canadian rebels are taking a stand against their government from May 1th - 5th because of its reckless disregard for everyone's rights to a safe, healthy, liveable environment. Because of its ecocidal policies that are contributing to the destabilization of our planet’s ecosystems. Because of its irresponsible management of our economy, propping up an oil and gas industry that has no place in the future of this country.
We gratefully acknowledge that these events will take place on the unceded and stolen land of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
