Stop TMX Reconnection March and Sacred Fire

Three years ago, ten thousands of us joined Indigenous leaders to build a traditional Coast Salish Watch House in the path of a pipeline.
Join us TOMORROW, Wednesday March 10 at 2:00 pm to support Protectors taking bold action at the construction site, then join the Reconnection March to the Sacred Fire at the Watch House, in celebration of the 3-year anniversary. The march will retrace our footsteps 3 years ago, it is 5 km with an incline. If you can’t make the march, please meet us at the Watch House at around 4:15 pm for the gathering around the Sacred Fire.

We’re reconnecting on the same day now, as work picks up again on the tar sands pipeline and tanker project, after months of shutdowns due to safety concerts, worker death and dismemberment and flouting of Covid protocols, all witnessed by an alliance of groups including Sustainabiliteens, Mountain Protectors, 1308 Trees, Protect the Planet - Stop TMX, BROKE, Burnaby Climate Hub, Extinction Rebellion, Climate Convergence, Colony Farms Parks Association, 350 Vancouver, the Stop TMX coalition and more.
Unlike Trans Mountain, we will scrupulously adhere to physical distancing and recommend double masking.
