Last week the BC government called a state of emergency due to massive wildfires raging through the province. As of July 20, there were 299 wildfires burning in B.C., with 40 evacuation orders. During this summer of massive fires, a heat wave brought on by an unprecedented "heat dome" also killed over 500 people in BC.
Despite these dangerous conditions, the Trudeau government continues to back the Trans Mountain Expansion (TMX) pipeline. This exposes once again that this government that once claimed to be a "climate leader" has no regard for people or the planet, and no plans to address the climate emergency.
The planet can't take anymore, and neither will we. We invite you to join in this banner action and add your voice to the call for an immediate end to TMX pipeline construction, especially the attempt to drill a massive tunnel through Burnaby Mountain.
