EVERY SATURDAY, noon to 2pm, "Protect the Planet Stop TMX" volunteers are taking small groups in to see and hear the story of how the hummingbird stopped the pipeline.
Witness the beauty and wonder that is left of the forest our tree-sit is protecting. Visit the treehouse which is built and occupied 24/7, in the forest which is slated to be cut down.
Come learn about the tree-sit, and how a dedicated community of volunteers have successfully stopped the pipeline for almost a year.
Family friendly but we are walking on rough forest trails (some are slippery, there are roots, logs and a few slopes!). Wear sturdy footwear, and bring water and a snack.
Masks and distancing is MANDATORY - yes we are outdoors but need to be considerate and cautious.
No dogs please; there are many active ground-nesting birds we are taking care not to disturb.
Meet Saturdays at 12pm in the lower parking lot at Lower Hume Park, 660 E Columbia St., New Westminster, BC.
This event is taking place on unceded Coast Salish Territory.
