Welcome the Wet’suwet’en Nation to Vancouver August 15

Members of the Wet’suwet’en Nation have been defending their land from pipeline development for over a decade. Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs are on an 18-day tour meeting with Indigenous Nations and allies across Canada to continue building solidarity and awareness of this struggle.

This Monday, August 15, help welcome the Wet’suwet’en Nation-to-Nation tour to Vancouver as we continue to show solidarity against colonial violence on Wet’suwet’en territory.

For more information and to RSVP, click here.

We'll be meeting at 12pm in the plaza in front of the CBC building on Hamilton Street (between Robson and W Georgia) in Downtown Vancouver. Speakers will share updates from the Nation-to-Nation tour, as well as the ongoing struggle on the Yintah to protect the sacred waters of the Wedzin Kwa from drilling for the Coastal Gaslink pipeline.

This event is hosted by the Tsleil-Waututh Nation Sacred Trust, an initiative mandated to stop the Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion. You're invited to join Council of Canadians members and allies as we rally in support of Indigenous sovereignty and climate action.

The world is facing a climate emergency. Now is the time to stand in solidarity with Indigenous Nations fighting against the expansion of fossil fuel infrastructure on their unceded lands.

In Solidarity,

David Ravensbergen
