CCPA-BC Director Seth Klein Explains Pro Rep

Get Ready to Vote for Electoral Reform

BC voters will receive ballots in the mail for the 2018 referendum on electoral reform in just a few weeks. Before your ballot arrives, learn more about proportional representation (pro rep) and the referendum questions so you are ready to cast your vote.

On October 17, Seth Klein, BC Director of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (CCPA), will speak on why pro rep is important for democracy and explain the three pro rep systems on the referendum ballot. A discussion will follow the presentation.

In over 20 years of service, Seth has helped CCPA-BC become a highly respected source of progressive research on topics ranging from poverty to climate change. Seth is also a co-founder of Next Up, the former co-chair of the BC Poverty Reduction Coalition, an advisory board member for the Columbia Institute’s Centre for Civic Governance, and an advisor to the Living Wage for Families campaign. For Seth’s research on electoral reform visit the CCPA website at www.policyalternatives.ca.

This event is hosted by the Vancouver-Burnaby Chapter of the Council of Canadians. After the presentation and discussion the chapter will hold its AGM. Chapter members are encouraged to attend.
