The Award-winning documentary's BC broadcast premiere!

Fractured Land BC TV Premiere August 29!

Don't miss the BC broadcast premiere of Fractured Land this Tuesday, August 29 at 9 PM on Knowledge Network.

The BC-made film has won a series of awards since its debut at Toronto's prestigious Hot Docs film festival in 2015, where it was a Top Ten Audience Favourite. The 80-minute film, co-directed and co-produced by Damien Gillis and Fiona Rayher, went on to win Best BC Film and the VIFF Impact: Canadian Audience Award at the 2015 Vancouver International Film Festival - along with a number of additional honours.

Fractured Land is a coming of age story about a young First Nations law student and emerging leader from northeastern BC, Caleb Behn, as he tries to reconcile the fractures within himself, his community and the world around him - blending modern tools of the law with ancient wisdom.

The film examines some of the key forces shaping and challenging Canadian society today - the fossil fuel economy, resource politics, Indigenous rights - through the eyes of Behn, a compelling, complex young leader inhabiting two very different worlds. As renowned climate author and activist Bill McKibben describes Behn, "Anyone who can throw a hatchet and sue you is a force to be reckoned with."

Fractured Land will also be available for online viewing at Knowledge.cafor a one-month period following the Aug. 29 TV premiere.
