In Kelowna: Ripples from Standing Rock: A Teach-In & Panel Discussion on Water Protection and Indigenous Sovereignty

The event is called: Ripples from Standing Rock: A Teach-In & Panel Discussion on Water Protection and Indigenous Sovereignty

The Teach-In and panel discussion will be about Standing Rock solidarity and water protection more broadly. We plan to hold the event in conjunction with Rule Out Racism week (March 20-24) at UBC-O and to promote World Water Day on March 22.

The intention is to raise awareness and generate local strategies to combat the implications of the Kinder Morgan pipeline for Indigenous peoples and the environment.

We plan on having Indigenous water protectors from the Syilx territory and Indigenous water protectors from the Oceti Sakowin camp at Standing Rock.

Okanagan College Theatre Student Services Building, Room S104, 1000 K.L.O. Road, Kelowna

Wednesday March 22, 2017 6-9 pm

To celebrate and honour World Water Day, join us for an informative discussion with Indigenous water protectors.
