Belmont Ave & Sasamat St, Vancouver, BC V6R 1C5

Hosted by May Day Collective

On Saturday, May 4th, 2019 the May Day Collective is organizing a “Billionaire Bash” —an interactive tour of the who’s who of B.C. billionaires.

We’ll be touring the “Billionaire Row” on Belmont Street in Vancouver’s westside, where just 10 houses are worth $433 million. The stops along the way will highlight how individuals in Vancouver are profiting immensely by exploiting land and people – often with government support – and contributing to growing inequality. #BillionaireAwareness.

Tour: 1:00pm-2:30pm
BBQ: 2:30pm onwards

BRING YOUR POTS AND PANS TO MAKE SOME NOISE!
We'll have some food to share at our beach BBQ but invite you to bring something to contribute if you can.

Speakers include:

- Alex Hemingway
- Alliance Against Displacement
- Alexandra Henao-Castrillon - Fuerza Migrante
- Mining Justice Alliance
- Natalie Knight
- Teaching Support Staff Union
- Vancouver Tenants' Union

....and more!

The tour will be a chance for people in Vancouver to learn about B.C. wealthiest developers, resource extractors, tech moguls, landlords, and bad bosses. Along the way, we’ll be hearing from community members and organizations about their current campaigns and organizing efforts.

The tour will end with a beach BBQ at Spanish Banks to celebrate our solidarity with each other and working people around the world!

Car pool information: “Car caravans” will leave from East Vancouver, the Safeway parking lot at commercial and broadway, at 12:00 pm.

If you need a ride or can offer a ride from Safeway please fill out this survey monkey form: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SHKQCMY

This event will be taking place on occupied unceded Indigenous land belonging to the Musqueam, Skxwú7mesh [Skohomish] and Tsleil-Waututh [slay-wa-tooth] nations. Unceded means that this land was never surrendered, relinquished or handed over in any way.
