NVDA Training // Non-Violent Direct Action

Life as we know it is falling apart. Extreme weather events and mass species extinction cover the globe. The government has failed to implement the radical change we need, we are facing the unravelling of the ecological, social and economic systems that underpin our lives.

It's time to rebel.

In prep for April join Extinction Rebellion for our introduction to non-violent direct action, both theory and practice. In this workshop you will learn action essentials, how to chat to police/public during actions, aspects of burnout and regenerative culture, quick decision-making, and the practice of non-violent techniques.

You will also form your own affinity groups, with whom you may carry out these actions in the run-up to the international rebellion - it is good to have an idea of who you’d like to team up with, and your level of involvement, before coming to the workshop.

Bring food to share if you can, vegan if possible.

Anyone know where we can do an art build mid March?

March 16th - ART BUILD!! Location and exact time tbc.

We plan to make flags, block print onto old t-shirts, paint placards while also plotting the rebellion, with tea and cake. We also have a little FUNDRAISER on gofundme for art materials and supplies, please chip in and share amongst your network for noble aim of making the rebellion gloriously beautiful!

March 30th - Second NVDA Training - Grandview Church Lower Hall.

A repeat of the training on the 9th. We hope that folk can get comfortable enough with the NVDA training that they can take this information to their own groups and communities.
