Polluted Discourse: Building Grassroots Power amid Pipeline Propaganda

The conversation around the Trans Mountain expansion project is fraught with rhetoric carefully engineered to undermine thoughtful opposition. Please join Dogwood for a special speaking event in Vancouver and reconnect with the larger community to "clear the air." It's time for us to deliver the counter-narrative -- and new techniques for approaching tough conversations.

We're calling this event "Polluted Discourse: Building Grassroots Power amid Pipeline Propaganda" and we've got a great lineup of speakers to help you do just that:

     - Shannon Daub is the BC Director for the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives and Co-Director for the Corporate Mapping Project. She'll expose the money and power trying to drive a wedge between B.C and the rest of Canada.

     - Khelsilem is a well known spokesperson for the Squamish people and an elected Councillor of the Squamish Nation Council. Khelsilem will discuss the upcoming court proceedings as the SFN takes the provincial government to the Court of Appeal later in the month to fight for adequate consultation on Trans Mountain.

     - Kai Nagata is Dogwood’s Communications Director. Expect a frank, science and evidence-based exposé of the moment we’re in on TMX file. He'll be sharing Dogwood's approach on the way forward for climate action and upholding Indigenous rights. We'll close with your questions and a discussion.
