Anjali Appadurai Rally -  THIS IS NOW OVER.

For the last couple weeks, Anjali Appadurai's candidacy in the BC NDP Leadership race has been contested and today is the day the BC NDP decide whether she can continue to run. The BC NDP claim that the support Anjali has gotten is illegitimate, rather than recognizing that her platform directly addresses many of the frustrations that people in BC currently have. Environmental rights, improved healthcare, and public ownership are just a few of the things that Anjali is fighting for. More near and dear to our own hearts, Anjali has promised to end old growth logging within three months of being elected. This election could then be key to obtaining Save Old Growth's goal.

However, in the last twenty-four hours, news has leaked from the BC NDP leadership that they are, in fact, planning on disqualifying Anjali. Disqualifying Anjali means silencing those of us who support her platform, and we must now make ourselves heard. If you are in either so-called "Vancouver" or "Victoria," please join us in support of Anjali.
