If the 100,000 strong climate strike on September 27th made you feel the power of mass nonviolent mobilization, don't let the momentum fade.
A mass strike needs clear demands and it needs to be sustained day after day until those demands are met. Don't assume politicians will suddenly start making the necessary changes to save us after decades of empty promises and criminal inaction.
Come join the rebellion and together we will take back these streets and demand, not ask, that our politicians listen to the voices of average Canadians through a Citizens' Assembly on climate and ecological justice.
Come and join Extinction Rebellion Vancouver on Monday October 7th, 8:00am or anytime you can throughout the day for a takeover of Burrard Bridge!
We will be declaring a Climate Rebellion and taking action in response to the Climate and Ecological Emergency we are facing. This Canada wide #BridgeOut action will be happening from the East to the West. We will stand together on bridges all over the country in peaceful, festive and non-violent actions to make our voices heard.

International Rebellion: Begins 7 October 2019

You are called on.
Something is happening. You know it is, you can feel it. You are called on to be part of it.
Because time is running out.
We’re on the brink of extinction
The governments are doing nothing.
Businesses are doing nothing.
It’s up to you now.
This isn’t a distant apocalypse. Scientists are telling us that we’re 18 months from a tipping point from which there will be no coming back.
It’s not going to happen to somebody else. It’s going to happen to you.
We must rebel.
You can’t look to us or Greta for this. You have to look inside yourself and rebel.
Starting on October 7th, for 2 weeks, Extinction Rebellion is calling an International Rebellion. Together, we will peacefully occupy the centres of power and shut them down until Governments act on the Climate and Ecological Emergency.
Leave your desk. Invite your boss. Walk out of school. Switch off the TV. Put down your phone. Get on the streets. And bring everybody.
You are called on. If you do one thing with your life, do this. Not later, now.
Respect existence or expect resistance.
1. SHARE THIS EVENT ON SOCIAL MEDIA. Even if you don’t post frequently, it’s one of the most effective ways to raise the alarm.
2. LINK WITH YOUR LOCAL GROUP. These small units are vital to organising during the Rebellion.
3. FIND YOUR ROLE. The rebellion is for everybody, not just those willing to risk arrest. We need cooks, admin legends, action designers, sanitation pros, financial whizzes, social media gurus, prominent spokespeople, legal observers, builders and fixers, musicians, logistics experts, and loads more to help keep rebels safe, organised and fed on the street. 4. DONATE. If you’re short on time but can offer money, donate to the Rebellion.
5. STAY UP-TO-DATE.
6. BRING YOURSELF. This Rebellion needs everybody. If you think you have nothing to contribute, think again. Bring yourself. That will be enough.
