Ever since the Enbridge pipelines and tankers project was first proposed, more than a decade ago, and Yinka Dene communities began to learn about the threat it poses to our lands, our water and our way of life, we knew this day might come: Next week Yinka Dene Alliance members Nadleh Whut’en and Nak’azdli will be in court challenging the Enbridge project. Please stand with us. Will you attend the United Against Enbridge solidarity rally? We will be rallying outside the Federal Court at 12:30pm on Oct.1 in solidarity with Nadleh and Nak’azdli, and all of the other First Nations who are in court this week seeking to overturn the federal government’s approval of the Enbridge project: the Gitga’at First Nation, Gitxaala Nation, Haida Nation, Haisla Nation, Heiltsuk Nation, and Kitasoo Xai’Xais Nation. Please join us so that we can show our collective power and send the message that we are all #UnitedAgainstEnbridge to protect our land and coasts from tar sands oil. Sincerely, Geraldine Thomas-Flurer PS: Several busloads of Yinka Dene Alliance community members, including Elders and youth will be making the trip to Vancouver to attend the court hearings and the rally. Please consider donating to help cover the cost of enabling our community members to witness this historic moment for our people and for all Canadians. Mussi Cho!
