UPDATE FROM THE FRONTLINES

Solidarity Actions Continue Across Turtle Island
Land defenders issue call-out for supporters to help continue the struggle.
In the last week the outpouring of solidarity with the struggle on Wet'suwet'en territory has continued with powerful actions, and solidarity statements.

The struggle on the territory is far from over and there is still a callout for supporters to come to Wet'suwet'en territory this month whether its for a week or longer. Supporters who can come later in the winter are also needed.

The ongoing movement has generated a flood of articles about the struggle on Wet'suwet'en territory including a bombshell article detailing how the BC NDP government has authorized all three raids on Wet'suwet'en Territory. A selection of the many recent articles and actions are detailed below.

Gidimt'en Checkpoint has released multiple new videos including one detailing the raid on Jocey, Chief Woos's Daughters' cabin, and one on the role of the investors propping up CGL.

They also put out a call for support for Vanessa Gray, an indigenous land defender recently criminalised in relation to solidarity actions in Toronto.

Fundraisers, actions, and educational events are doing crucial work to build connections and educate local communities on the Wet'suwet'en struggle and fights for Indigenous sovereignty more broadly.

Every day the struggle is growing with more people standing up against the injustices perpetuated by industry and government, and for a world where Indigenous Sovereignty is respected and fossil fuels are left in the ground.

New video from Gidimt'en Checkpoint detailing the raid on Jocey, Chief Woos's daughter's Cabin.
On November 19th the CIRG/ERT RCMP invaded Coyote Camp and the House of Skïy ze’. Jocey and Jay were living in the cabin that Woos, Joceys’ father, blessed and gave it to her.

The state does not have authority or jurisdiction over Wet’suwet’en yintah, over the Wet’suwet’en people, or Wedzin Kwa.

These violences and violations against our people will not go unanswered! We are still here, we will never surrender until the yintah is free and Wedzin Kwa is safe. Join us.

To support Jocey and Jay please give to their gofundme to rebuild their lives and replace all their belongings that were destroyed and burnt down by CGL!

She has been charged in connection to an action in Toronto attended by hundreds of people on November 21st in response to the violent raid in Wet’suwet’en territories.

Vanessa Gray has been organizing solidarity events for Wet’suwet’en for years. She has a strong presence in Indigenous resistance.  She has worked to bring awareness of the serious impact of chemical valley industries (Sarnia,Ontario) on her community - Aamjiwnaang. She was targeted because she is Indigenous and her influence is seen as a threat to this racist and destructive system!

We need to support our strong relatives and let this colonial system know that we condemn their actions and they cannot silence us!

Chi Miigwetch Vanessa Gray for your Love and Solidarity for Wet’suwet’en! You Stand with us we stand with you!
New Video from Gidimt'en Checkpoint Highlighting the Primary Investors Propping Up Coastal GasLink
KKR, KKR & Co. Inc., or Kohlberg, Kravis Roberts, and Co. is a Wall Street private equity firm with over $148 Billion dollars in assets. Last year, KKR signed an agreement with Alberta Investment Management Corp (AIMCO) to purchase 65% of the Coastal GasLink Pipeline Project.

Despite claiming that they support responsible investment, and listing “Environmental, Social and Governance issues” as key areas of their partnerships principles to prioritize, they continue to violate Wet’suwet’en sovereignty, have refused to meet with or respond to Wet'suwet'en hereditary leadership and have completely ignored both the eviction notice issued to them as well as thousands of phone calls, emails, and letters as well as in person visits and actions from supporters of the Wet'suwet'en.

It's time to SHUT DOWN KKR.
