OPEN LETTER TO THE WORLD: FROM CUBA, A WOMAN ON FOOT DENOUNCES THE CRIME THEY DON'T WANT TO SEE

To the entire humanity, to the mothers of the world, to the doctors without borders, to the journalists with dignity, to the governments that still believe in justice:

My name is like millions. I don't have known last names or important positions. I'm a Cuban woman. A daughter, a sister, a patriot. And I'm writing this with a broken soul and trembling hands, because what my people are going through today is not a crisis. It's a slow, calculated, cold murder carried out from Washington.

And the world is looking the other way.

 I DENOUNCE FOR MY GRANDPARENTS:

I denounce that in Cuba there are old people dying prematurely because the blockade prevents them from receiving medicine for the heart, blood pressure, and diabetes. It's not a lack of resources. It's a deliberate prohibition. Companies that want to sell us oil are being fined, persecuted, and threatened. There are Cuban mothers who have seen their children's lives endangered because an order signed in a Washington office is worth more than a baby's cry 90 miles away from their coast.

Where is the international community? Where are the organizations that so fiercely defend childhood? Or is it that Cuban children don't deserve to live?

 I DENOUNCE FOR INTENTIONAL HUNGER:

I denounce that the blockade is programmed hunger. It's not that there's a lack of food because of it. It's that they prevent us from buying it. It's that ships carrying food are being persecuted. It's that banking transactions are being blocked. It's that companies selling us grains, chicken, milk, are being sanctioned.

They call this "economic pressure". I call it terrorism with hunger.

 I DENOUNCE FOR MY DOCTORS:

I denounce that our doctors, the same ones who saved lives during the pandemic while the whole world collapsed, today have no syringes, no anesthesia, no X-rays. Not because we don't know how to produce them. Not because we don't have talent. But because the blockade prevents us from accessing supplies, spare parts, and technology.

Our scientists created five vaccines against COVID-19. Five. Without anyone's help. Against the wind and tide. Against the blockade and lies. And yet, the empire punishes us for having achieved it.

TO THE WORLD I SAY:

Cuba doesn't beg for alms.

Cuba doesn't beg for soldiers.

Cuba doesn't beg for us to love.

Cuba asks for justice. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I ask that complicit governments feel shame.

I ask that lying media outlets stop their lies.

The blockade doesn't change the world.

It changes the world when we live.

To the governments that remain silent:

History will hold you accountable.

To the lying media:

Truth always finds cracks.

To the executioners who sign sanctions:

The Cuban people will never forget and will never forgive.

To those who still have humanity in their hearts:

Look at Cuba. Look at what they are doing. And ask yourselves: Which side of history do I want to be on?

So that the grandparents of other lands know that here there are elderly people dying waiting for medicine that Washington won't let in.

So that complicit governments feel shame.

So that lying media outlets have no escape.

So that the executioners know that WE DON'T SILENCE.

One person sharing this doesn't change the world.

Thousands, millions, YES.

Don't keep this text saved.

Don't be an accomplice to silence.
