BROKE (Burnaby Residents Opposed to Kinder Morgan Expansion)
Dear BROKE folk,

Our friends at PPST-Protect the Planet StopTMX need your support, and asked us to share this message with you:

We know some of you have been following the amazing news - Protect the Planet has a new frontline Treesit in Burnaby - in solidarity with Wet’suwet’en & on unceded Coast Salish territory. Once again we are stopping TMX - no pipelines in a climate crisis nor on Stolen Indigenous land.
On Wednesday, TransMountain denied supporters access to bring water & food to the treesit. Don’t worry… we found a way to get it in.
We need your eyes on the treesit to help keep it safe.
This is vital non-arrestable work, and it will not wait.
Support your local frontline

Other support needs & requests:
  • Sign donations for our folks on the ground who haven’t had time to make their own eg. “Honk to stop the pipeline!” (or something more clever), but something to engage drivers passing by in support for the sit would be greatly appreciated. Stop TransMountain Pipeline Expansion?
  • Hot beverage and snack/food delivery in morning & afternoon.
  • Legal observers.
  • Media + social media.
  • If you live close by and can offer storage space for our tent to be dropped off after workers leave & picked up in the morning between 7:30 & 8am that would be really helpful.

TREE SIT LOCATION (pin)
BY CAR:
There is parking in various locations. If you park on Horne St or at New Life Community Church and walk north up the greenway note there is a scramble up a steep slope before Lougheed, but it is a lovely route and you may see spawning salmon in Stoney Creek.
To avoid a scramble find parking somewhere off Lougheed & walk to Gaglardi.
BY TRANSIT:
>From Production Way Skytrain station walk east 5 min straight along Lougheed. Treesit is slightly east of the SE corner of Lougheed at Gaglardi, “Burnaby.”

In solidarity!
