Good morning Maple readers. On Tuesday, Canada voted for a resolution at the UN General Assembly to call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, a move that human rights activists said shows the Trudeau government is finally listening to the demands of Palestine solidarity protests.

Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME) said in a statement Tuesday that Canada's UN vote shows "the government is gradually ceding to popular pressure," and that CJPME "urges Canada to be unequivocal in demanding an end to Israel’s genocidal war, and to back up its words with the suspension of military trade with Israel."
