Unist'ot'en checkpoint remains solid as Gitdumden clan steps up with second checkpoint at km 44 of Forest Service Road.
On Tuesday, December 18th, the Gitdumt'en Clan set up a second checkpoint outside the injunction zone that is being enforced by all five Wet’suwet’en clans.

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C., Canada: On Friday, December 21, 2018, B.C. Supreme Court Justice Marguerite Church ruled on an amendment to a recent injunction against Unist’ot’en. On Tuesday, December 18th, the Gitdumt'en Clan set up a second checkpoint outside the injunction zone that is being enforced by all five Wet’suwet’en clans.
This morning’s ruling is an amendment by Coastal GasLink to include Gitdumt'en territories within the initial injunction, and circumvent Wet’suwet’en right to steward and protect their unceded lands based on their traditional governance as upheld by the Supreme Court of Canada in the 1997 Delgamuukw decision.
According to the Wet'suwet'en Access Point on Gitdumt'en Territory, “Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs have not made any agreement with the Canadian or British Columbian governments to surrender or permit access to Wet’suwet’en lands for any pipeline construction activities.”
Send an email directly to the provincial government of British Columbia and the federal government of Canada to respect the rights, jurisdiction and laws of the Unist'ot'en/Giltseyu-Dark House on their un-ceded territories:

If you are physically fit for the hard work of supporting the camp and checkpoints (especially during the northern winter), prepared to commit at least two weeks or more and are prepared to work under the leadership and protocols of the Indigenous stewards of the Yintah then register HERE.

Even if you can't spend time on the front line due to work, school or family responsibilities, can you spare a few days to ferry longer term volunteers from the lower mainland to the north? Of course the courageous First Nations land defenders and their allies on the front-lines are at the centre of this struggle. But never underestimate the power of political pressure whether it comes from communicating your support for the Unist'ot'en directly or through organizing and taking part in public actions.
In late August of 2015 heavily armed members of the RCMP tactical unit were massed in Smithers waiting for the "go signal" to attack the camp. Then they got word that hundreds of organizations and thousands of individuals across Turtle Island and all around Mother Earth were watching.
Suddenly their deployment became "a mere training exercise" and then they were gone. We have no doubt that even now the RCMP and their political masters are playing close attention and weighing the cost of instigating another Oka or Gustafson Lake type confrontation.
