Sad news, rebel.
Our COP26 budget has been blown apart by greed and price gouging in the host city of Glasgow.
Hotels and landlords are jacking up room prices to obscene levels during the conference, even when bookings were made well in advance.
This has put huge pressure on the COP Homestay Network which supplies the affordable accommodation that our rebels rely on. The waiting list is now 3000 names long.
Rebel spokespeople from Brazil and the DRC, who are still on their way to Glasgow, don’t have rooms to stay in.
Other rebels from the Global South are in rooms nearly 2 hours away from the conference centre, meaning extra travel costs. Food prices are also much higher than expected.
The Serpent of Capitalism is alive and well at COP26!
Support our global team of activists in Glasgow, put a roof over their heads, fill the holes in their budgets, and help them escape the awful Serpent of Capitalism until the final day of COP.
Love & rage,
