United Electrical Workers Of America
Just to spell it out, which the article seems reluctant to do, this is the United Electrical Workers or, more fully, the United Electrical, Radio, and Machine Workers of America, a very left-leaning union since its founding in the '30s.

World Map

A slow beginning to this article, but it contains a lot of information about what needs to be done (and is NOT being done or even planned) to save at least some of our billions from the impacts of climate disruption. Given how thorough the author is, what is discouraging--and more than a little strange--is that the word "capitalism" is never mentioned. As someone once said, if you don't know where you have to go, no road will take you there.

A lengthy read, indeed, but we need big-picture summaries like this to appreciate the scope of what lies before us. This is not to say that I take everything in this essay as gospel. But U.S. imperialism is definitely a thick strand in the weave of difficult problems we're going to have to overcome (or in this case, overthrow).
