Protest - Revolt

On Tuesday, Vancouver City Council passed an amended version of the recommendations of the October 22 report on the Climate Emergency Action Plan. Against the opposition of a number of NPA councillors on most points, the 370-page CEAP report was passed item by item at a vote late Tuesday evening.

VANCOUVER -- Protesters have organized another blockade in B.C.'s Lower Mainland while calling on Justin Trudeau's government to cancel the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion.

The latest railway blockade was organized by the Extinction Rebellion, the same group of climate-focused activists responsible for shutting down the Burrard Street Bridge in downtown Vancouver last year and a number of other demonstrations in the region.

Two socially distanced Greenpeace activists sped remote-controlled toy cars under the gates of Downing Street towards Boris Johnson’s front door with a message: we’ll lose the race against the climate crisis unless the government phases out new fossil-fueled cars and vans by 2030.
