Exclusive: new database shows 1,500 US lobbyists working for fossil-fuel firms while representing universities and green groups
More than 1,500 lobbyists in the US are working on behalf of fossil-fuel companies while at the same time representing hundreds of liberal-run cities, universities, technology companies and environmental groups that say they are tackling the climate crisis, the Guardian can reveal.
“I don't see any language in this resolution that identifies the root of the problem,” said [Galen] Crampsey, who identified the ruling class as the source of the cost of living and climate crises.

"By focusing on pressure campaigns against private actors with no direct effect on the fossil fuel industry, well-intentioned people inadvertently delay the necessary struggle to win and engage state power to phase out the extraction and production of fossil fuels.". . . .
