Extinction Rebellion - Bee Bus

Earlier this week, Extinction Rebellion (XR) activists protested against the Labour party by blocking the party’s battle bus. This latest action follows the protests – including hunger strikes – which have been taking place at Labour’s headquarters.

In the nation's largest public-sector strike in decades, hundreds of thousands of workers—from teachers to air traffic controllers to rail workers—took to the streets across France and effectively brought large swaths of the country to a stand-still Thursday to protest President Emmanuel Macron's plan to overhaul the pension system.

The 2019 federal election has given Jagmeet Singh, leader of Canada's New Democratic Party, a golden opportunity. To be sure, the party's caucus was reduced to a band of 24, but a strong campaign by Singh staved off an even harsher fate that had loomed in the earlier polls. And in a minority government situation, Singh is in a pivotal position to influence the direction of the next Liberal government.

Genuine fascists remain on the political margins, but we can increasingly imagine the space that eco-fascism might occupy

Earlier this year, when the fascist responsible for the El Paso massacre cited ecological degradation as part motivation for his killing spree, many considered him entirely deranged.

Eco-fascism sounds oxymoronic, a mashup of irreconcilable philosophies.
